Hello, Runners!
I can safely say that this race was one of the wettest in the event's history. I recall having to hold the admin, start, and finish in the entrance to the alley under the bridge once before but if it wasn't for Frank following me around with his umbrella like Rory McIlroy's caddy on a rainy day at The Open, I'd've been even more soaked that I was. ...and I was soaked.
Consequently, there was a reduced field of only eighteen....and seven of those were first-timers. You could say that all that water caused the field to shrink. You could...........
The 'New runners' input page has never had to deal with a negative handicap so I've had to make an adjustment that, I hope, only that particular runner will notice. At all events, it made no difference to the W J Hanscombe Trophy winner...and the handicapping has worked things out as if it had never happened.
