January 2019 Results
Paul's last race
January 2019 was Paul Oakes' last event as Race Director. The event was marked by a record turnout which shows the high esteem we have for Paul. Thank you for the nine years you have been RD, Paul. Paul had lots of hugs, cards, handshakes and gifts and Tom Everitt, runner number 6, presented him with a tankard on behalf of us all.

Hello Fellow Runners,
I am pleased to attach the results for the January race.
A record turnout for my last race so thank you all so much for the support, 48 is an amazing number so to each of you a personal thanks for making the effort.
The race winner, James Marchant tells me he has never won a sporting trophy so James it was very rewarding for me to see you so happy at breaking your duck, a very worthy winner in my book.
Thanks to Frank for his handling of the watch, banter and great conversation, it was a pleasure to work with you Frank.
So now it is time to say goodbye as my time as race organiser has come to an end. Retirement and a move to Norfolk beckon so I am preparing for those big changes in my life. The Bridges Race has allowed me to meet some wonderful people, amazing characters and some brilliant runners over the last 10 or so years so it really has been a pleasure organising the event.
Thank you is a pretty mean and insufficient response for all the kind words, cards, wine and gifts, I really was taken aback by your kindness and I will miss you all very much.
The race of course will continue as we now have a small committee ready to take forward the organising. The members of the committee will be in touch before the next race on 13 February so please do support them and keep this wonderful event going for a few years yet.
So for now please take great care and thanks for so many great memories.
